  • You are not allowed to enter employment with a company in New Zealand
  • You are in good health
  • You do not have a criminal record

A permanent residence permit is called the Residence Permit. You will need this permit if you plan to live and work on the island and therefore intend to move to New Zealand on a permanent basis. At the border, you must be able to demonstrate that you will be of value to the country. This can be shown, for example, by presenting your diplomas, translated when required, or by proving that you intend to make an investment in the local economy.
