Contents insurance when moving

Some damages are not covered in a regular contents insurance. Damage caused by the movers is never covered in a regular contents insurance. However, the insurance of the mover is responsible for this. An important reason to make cure what exactly the conditions are of the moving company's insurance.

Guarantee Certificate in the Netherlands

To cover the limitations of liability insurance, the organization for Certified Movers has developed the Guarantee Certificate Netherlands for moves within the Netherlands. With De Haan, your household goods are insured up to a value of €100,000, with no deductible.

A key advantage of this moving insurance is that all your belongings are generally insured at their replacement value during the move, for a moving process lasting up to one year (if the move includes storage at the moving company). The Guarantee Certificate also covers up to one month of storage. This moving insurance is only available when you have your move handled by a Certified Mover, such as De Haan.

All-risk insurance

For an international move it is not enough to have a normal insurance or guarantee certificate. There is an all-risk insurance available, which insures against theft, damage and the loss of goods during the move.
