I worked with De Haan to move my household from the Randstad to the San Francisco Bay Area, and throughout the process they were exceptional. The initial survey and quoting process is what first caught my attention, as they invest more effort into giving you solid advice about moving and getting an accurate estimate for your needs. The quoting process was also by far the most transparent of the companies I initially engaged, which helped avoid surprises later since there were no hidden fees and anything variable was clearly called out to me at the outset. The move coordinator and moving teams on both sides of the journey were exceptional, and what initially had been a big life change that was causing me a lot of stress became a much smoother and easier experience. The staff expertly answered all our questions, and a quote was promptly provided thereafter. The pickup, packing, and removal of the goods were well-organized. The staff knew how to disassemble the goods, and the antique cabinet was expertly packed in a custom-made crate. The information flow about shipping dates and arrival dates was excellent. De Haan's staff kept us informed of all steps in the transportation process and contacted us immediately after the goods arrived to inquire if we had received any updates on local handling, customs clearance, and delivery of the goods. In a flash we sold our property of 35 years in Holland and called De Haan. It is amazing how much professionalism and efficiency was shown, together with top-class materials to pack books, glassware, bedding, furniture and ship it overseas to the USA. Their ward-robe hanging-boxes are top-of-the line !!

It would have been great to get storage information beforehand (prices, insurance requirements, other considerations), as at the time of the (pre-)move we didn't have a destination location yet.

We have chosen De Haan to ship the legacy of my deceased aunt from America to the Netherlands. Not a standard removal, so what many other companies can do as well. But De Haan specializes in importing goods under inheritance so that you do not have to pay import duties. That requires a lot of paperwork, but that makes sense. Occasionally I had to steer people a bit because they stuck too much in their field in their communication, but with further questions everything was resolved. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and great to work with. They arranged everything in four months, from shipping from America to bringing it home here in the Netherlands. Highly recommended for anyone who ever needs to use removal services!

I moved from the Netherlands to Washington DC with the help of De Haan Relocation. All contact with De Haan was excellent, they could reassure me with all my questions and the movers in the Netherlands themselves were very careful with my belongings and professional and all in all De Haan was very nice to work with. The team of movers on the day itself was very nice and packed everything in such a way that it wasn't much work for the movers in the US to put everything back together. The team in the US was a bit harder to reach at times, but luckily De Haan did the most contact. Everything actually went very smoothly.

Good company but personally I would think three times, what I am moving to another country. I think the cost is unrealistically high compared to the value of your stuff. The additional, unforeseen costs are not always the fault of De Haan, but could have been better told.

We have relocated from East Coast USA to Amsterdam, The Netherlands during the second wave of the virus. De Haan was recommended to us by our relocation company. They have been super professional and very efficient, we are very lucky to have found them especially when moving during Corona (in early 2021). Everything from the paperwork to the actual removal of our goods (some goods were in storage and some were with us) has been seamless. We would 100% recommend De Haan to others and we are very thankful to have found such a great company to work with during an extra stressful international move with Corona restrictions. At a time when the world froze up during the COVID pandemic, De Haan provided excellent control and stability to our continued plans to move internationally from the U.S. From start to end, they proved to be exceedingly knowledgable about the requirements needing to be met and the capabilities that were permitted. There is a lot of uncertainty about how long it will actually take for the items to arrive at their destination, but the movers are good at what they do and very friendly. The country of arrival company was very unclear in their communication and kept calling us with the wrong name which started to get very annoying after we improved them 4x. Everything has arrived and is in good condition so we would definitely use De Haan again, just keep in mind that it may take longer than we expect.

The Nederlands moving crew BLEW the American crew out of the water! Americans were a bit lazy and very SLOW, but kind. The crew over here in Amsterdam was fast, efficient and ON IT! An absolutely Incredibly moving experience. Much thanks to everyone! 

I had a great experience and support throughout the moving process. I really liked that I always got a reply to my questions within a day (even if the answer was that more time was needed). Also, even when things were a bit off (the moving crew at origin was several hours late) I always had support trying to contact the different parties to resolve the problems.

The process was easy and there was good communication throughout the process. Would definitely use De Haan again if needed.  

Great experience. I was already familiar with De Haan since I used the company in 1983, when I moved to the US. This time it involved a number of boxes and some small furniture, but after having investigated various options for shipping / sending, I decided that "peace of mind" was the most important thing for me

Not everything unpacked yet, but the outside of all things looks allright and clean. Friendly movers who had all things unloaded promptly at our new home and were not disturbed by an awkwardly parked car.

The unpacking of the boxes went really fast, I could not check the list to see if all boxes were delivered, this list was quickly signed by the movers, and half an hour later they returned with a box they found, this was signed for, but not delivered. Eventually all ended well, but this way I could not check whether all boxes were really delivered.

De Haan was professional, friendly, and helpful from the moment I first phoned to ask them about price right through to arrival at my home in the US. The packing of my piano and personal effects was of such high quality that I have no complaints at all.  Even the little box with my fragile glassware arrived completely intact.  The price they offered was very competitive -- also important! 

The overall experience was simple, smooth, including when we have to deal with a reimbursement of an insured piece of furniture (this isn't always so easy and simple to deal with)

Initial move was smooth, movers very helpful. New address move was easy. Only issue was I had to wait an extra week for delivery due to miscommunication on parking permits, which was a hassle.

Bedankt voor het aanraden om gebruik te maken de de service van De Haan. Het proces werd vrij snel door ze opgepakt, in het begin wat verwarrend aangezien er allerlei verschillende partijen je benaderen.

Al met al houden ze je constant up to date, de 'vertraging' zat 'm meer in het visum die op orde dient te zijn alvorens zij mogen beginnen met verschepen. Bij aankomst van de goederen in San Francisco zijn ze zo snel mogelijk geleverd en punctueel conform afspraak. Bij het openen van de dozen trof ik schade aan bij kleding als wel wat sport goederen (schimmel aandoening), de oorzaak zat 'm hoogstwaarschijnlijk in de luchtvochtigheid daar de goederen twee maanden in de haven van Maleisie gewacht hebben. Gelukkig trof het slechts een doos met kleding die hier last van had, de overige dozen waren ruim voorzien van vochtvreters etc. Echter is de schade deels opgepakt door de verzekering en heeft De Haan een coulance regeling getroffen om zodoende 50% van de totale schade te vergoeden. In mijn opzicht een erg net gebaar en vandaar bij dezen mijn positieve review. Het afhandelen van dit proces was trouwens ook binnen twee weken op orde.

It was a really good service, went smoothly. We initially had a miscommunication about quotation and documents needed to ship the furniture to Holland, but once De Haan knew about it it immediately changed consultants and solved things. All went great.

All De Haan staff were exceptional in their knowledge of their area of expertise and provided me with excellent communication throughout the entire move.  They were concerned about my move going smoothly and when the US partner was unprofessional the De Haan staff took it upon themselves to handle communications so as to make things less stressful for me.  Nothing was lost or damaged during my move! I had a 40 ft container and I have several expensive antique items, for which De Haan had customised crates made to keep them safe!  I was very impressed by their quality of Service. They also organised assembly of the antique items once they reached their destination at my home in San Diego.  Reduce your moving stress and worries and choose De Haan!!

Recently we relocated our family with four small children from San Diego, California to Switzerland, via the Netherlands. At the time of departure we did not know where we would relocate to, so we planned a 6-month stay is the Swiss Alps, while De Haan kept our belongings safe in their premises in Rotterdam, and airlifted the family essentials to our temporary Alpine home. After almost 1.5 years, we finally settled down, and 20-months after our departure from the US, De Haan delivered all our belongings to us in perfect condition. As you might expect, our departure was done in haste, and our future was unsure. De Haan's team of experts advisors, partners and movers, took one big worry out of our hands and ensured a smooth, and very personable transition. Zeer vriendelijk!Zeer klantgericht.Het enige is dat al onze mooie schalen op de zijkant zijn ingepakt. Dat wil zeggen het zwakste punt (de ronding) op de bodem. De mooiste kwam ook helaas gebroken aan (de andere hebben het wel overleefd).

DeHaan is een uitstekende dienstverlener enkel de US partner is tav assemblage niet op het juiste niveau.
