De Haan 242 years

It's our birthday! And we are celebrating our birthday on May 20. De Haan turns 242 years old today, and we believe that is a good age to reflect on.

Today, our colleagues and the customers we relocate receive special cookies to celebrate our birthday. We are proud of what we have achieved over the past centuries and look forward to the future in which we hope to be able to (continue to) move you with care, craftsmanship and quality.

De Haan is one of the oldest family businesses in the Netherlands with all the  shares still in the hands of the family De Haan. Established in 1777(!) De Haan is the oldest moving company in the Netherlands and the second oldest moving company in the world.

Many of our customers have been with us for decades and we have been able to give several generations of different families a new home in the last centuries. We are proud of that and we find that special.

We are celebrating our birthday today and, with our team of permanent movers and employees from our office in Alblasserdam, we continu working to the next milestone in 2027: De Haan 250 years!
