Last Thursday, May 12th 2022 the very first Packing Cup took place! A competition in which the best packers from different one-group members in Europe were judged on professional and fast packing.

One-group Packing Cup

Hugo van Bastelaere, Account Manager at De Haan, initiated and organized this fun event in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands. He noted that in the special world of moving and mobility issues, conferences were mainly aimed at Management and CEOs. A far from my bed affair for many movers on the floor. This is how the idea arose to go back to basics: packing and unpacking. The result was the birth of the Packing Cup.

Sharing knowledge, expertise and experience

Teams of packers from various one-group companies were sent to Alblasserdam to compete for the best packer. Knowledge, expertise and experience lubricate the craftsmanship engine of every relocation. All this was abundantly present.

The competition element that was introduced was very nice and at times exciting to watch. There was also plenty of time to learn from each other and get to know each other better. An advantage, because as one-group members we help each other with relocations in different countries. Or as one of the participants reported: "a colleague from another employer has now become more than just a name for me."
